How I find so much time to read 2-3 books a week
/“How do you find so much time to read?”
I get this question a lot. I mentioned a few weeks ago that I read 2 books a week and I thought I would tell you how I accomplish that with four kids and a full-time business.
I read more than one book at a time.
Since I read on different mediums I don’t lose track. I might have a physical copy, an audiobook and a book on my phone all going at a time. They are usually so different that I don’t get confused. It will usually be one business book, one fiction and one non-fiction or religious book.
I use audiobooks.
I get a lot of them free from Overdrive. All you need is a library card.
The caveat is you are put on a waiting list and you only have two weeks to listen, which shouldn’t be a problem for most of us, but life does slow down our listening time sometimes.
And sometimes I will buy them from Audible if I know I will listen to them again or I love the author. (Because I believe in supporting an artist I love.)
I use the Kindle app
You can download it free to read on the go. You can get a ton of ebook resources from your library. Instead of scrolling through social media I read. While I’m waiting for appointments, doing my hair (yup, blow-dry with one hand and hold the phone with the other. 🤣)
I make it a priority
We have time for what me make time for. Some people make time to craft, go to the gym, have regular date nights. We get a choice in how we spend our time and I prioritize reading. The great thing about time is that we get to choose how our days are spent.
