The FIVE minute project that brought me sanity for under $10!

This is the first in a new series of posts where each Friday I will be sharing quick, frugal DIYs that help improve the flow of our home. These are simple projects that will require minimal time and little to know cash.

I love our new home. The first time I walked in it I knew I wanted to live there.

Oh yeah, for those of you who don't know we moved in November. You can see all of that here

While I love our house, its layout, location and airiness, I was becoming increasingly frustrated because there is no real entryway or place to put things like purses, backpacks, coats and bicycle helmets.

I would come home from the store, set down my purse and turn around and find Issie pulling the entire contents of my purse our and scattering it on the floor. I tripped over the bicycle helmet one too many times.

So last week I drove straight to Lowe's and picked up three hooks for around $9 (TOTAL) and installed them, myself.

It took me five minutes and has really helped streamline our kitchen, rid our home of some (SOME, JUST SOME) of our clutter issues.

I know this seems like such a basic DIY, but that is the point that I am trying to make. It doesn't take a lot of money, time or effort to create a peaceful home environment you want to live in.

So tell me what DIYs you've been working on over the past few weeks?
