Free Printable Halloween Candy Scavenger Hunt for kids

Halloween, like everything else this year, is going to be different. With so many community events closed or greatly modified we felt like this year was a good year to stay home and play.

Our kids will still dress up, we will make some fun snacks, and watch some kid-friendly movies (Curious George Boo-Fest and Wild Kratts Creep Creatures are still our favorites).

One thing I’m also doing is hiding the Halloween treats and having my kids collect clues to find them. It will be fun and hopefully a great memory they always keep. I made a printable for my kids and I wanted to share it with you.

Okay it’s time to be honest. The best part of Halloween is the treats. All the treats. And the surprise of what will the treat be? It kind of makes me sad that we’re missing that this year. So I wanted to have that collective experience with my kids.

This is a simple hunt that will flow room to room until they find their treats on the front porch. We go from bathroom to living room to outside until we make our way to our basket of treats. And of course, the clues are Halloween themed rhymes.

I hope you enjoy this! Let me know if you got to use it and if your kids loved it.

You can download the one I’ve filled out or a blank one here.

Preview the clues:

Clue 1: Hand this first clue to your child

Go to the place where you wash your face.

Clue 2: On the bathroom mirror

Mirror mirror on the wall whose costume is the cutest of them all? The clue you seek is not at the sink but at the place where you take a shower.

Clue 3: In the shower

It’s good to be clean. I don’t want to be mean. But your candy isn’t in this space. Go to our snuggle place.

Clue 4: On the couch

A snuggle and cuddle are all you’ll find here. Go to the place where you play without fear.

Clue 5: Our trampoline (but anywhere in the backyard would be fine)

Great job my child. Jump and go wild. And then find some more clues where we keep your shoes.

Clue 6: In our shoe cubby

How fun your costume makes you look. The next clue is where you keep your books.

Clue 7: On the bookcase

This clue gets you closer to your candy wishes. Look in the place where we keep our dishes.

Clue 8: In the dish drawer

This drawer is such a bore. The answer you seek is at the front door.

Treasure: The treat buckets will be waiting on the front porch mat.
