My husband and I just started Baby Step #2 this month. We have a long journey ahead, but we want to start a family. We don't know what the best option is: wait until we are debt-free in two years, or start a baby fund for the future.

It's the dream, right? To be debt free. To be at peace with your bank account and to not worry when the next emergency will turn into a crisis. 

It's been three years since our family officially became debt free. I am not going to lie. At times, it felt tough. And then it felt freeing. That's the only way I can describe it. 

I am all about simple meals with little prep time. But I also want something that leans toward the healthy side. 

So let's be real for a second. Sinking funds are not the most exciting sounding topic in the whole world. I mean just the phrase "sinking funds" sounds like the worst. But they are important.
